I discovered WikiTree!
I’ve been working on a lot of family tree websites. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a website attempt to make ONE tree for everyone, but it’s the best I’ve seen so far.
I love the community nature of this website.
There are active people who care about keeping the tree healthy (and accurate).
They have figured out how to handle communication (or lack of communication) when there are conflicts about how to spell someone’s name or how many times they were married, etc.
The cool part about WikiTree is when you connect to the big tree…and you probably need to go back a few generations to do that, but once you do, you can find reliably sourced roots that you never knew existed… way back to medieval times!
